After a week full of fairy tale translations, we decided to clear our heads and go for a trip. We randomly pointed with a finger into our bucket list of places to see in Bali and headed to one of the oldest and the most interesting temple in Indonesia – Gunung Kawi. Gunung Kawi is located only 40 minutes north-east of Ubud so there is no need to pack much. Just a sarong, camera, some water and go.

The word Jamahal means ‘precious time’ in Sanskrit and I have to say that the time we stayed at the resort was really precious. This luxurious boutique resort was established in 2004 and specializes in personalized service and privacy. It is truly a heaven for those wanting a luxurious, secluded retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The airport is closed, and only the birds and butterflies sweep through the sky. The songs of birds and calls of insects will seem louder than on any other day. The night is dark and the sky is full of billions of shining stars.
